Chuck Allen
Founder and Executive Director

Chuck AllenChuck Allen is a native and resident of Wyandotte County, Kansas. His work at the Wyandotte County Juvenile Detention Center, National Center for Fathering, Youthfront, Hillview COG and as an instructor in the Blue Valley, Kansas school district, has given him a broad level of experience that allows him to communicate effectively with individuals of all socioeconomic and racial strata. He persevered through the ills of urban/inner-city society and earned two degrees, (BFA, Graphic Design; BS, Education) he also received an award for being one of the "Outstanding Undergraduates in the College of Education". His perseverance and hands-on life experiences give him a particularly significant vantage-point in knowing what must be done to help transform the lives of individuals and families in his community.

Alex Mathew
Associate Director

Alex Mathew Alex was a youth leader in Dallas, TX for over five years. He moved to the inner-city of Chicago to lead a team of urban missionaries through an organization called Mission Year. At the conclusion of Mission Year, Alex worked as program assistant for the Young Men's Educational Network, an urban ministry focused on discipleship and leadership development for junior high and high school boys. In 2006, he moved to the inner-city of Kansas City to work as the Outreach Coordinator for the Hope Center where he led Bible study programs for elementary students in the community. Alex graduated from Calvary Bible College with a BS in Organizational Leadership and is currently taking classes at Rockhurst University to complete a Masters in Education.

Tammy Hartig
Director of Operations

Tammy Hartig Tammy was born and raised in Wyandotte County, Kansas, the area where she continues to live and serve. She has been actively involved in church since childhood. Over the years, Tammy served as secretary in the cardiology departments of two area hospitals, and the secretary of a local church before joining the staff of USC in 2006. Tammy is a business owner who understands the need for precision, accountability and organization. She is an Associate Director with USC and manages their day-to-day business activities. Tammy and her husband, Larry, have been married over 25 years, have four sons (two married), and one grandson.

Marlo Schulz
Program Director, Life Enrichment Leadership Program

Marlo Schulz Marlo's Kansas connection began as a freshman at Kansas State University. Although she completed her bachelor's in interior design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in her native state, she ventured to Kansas City to start her career in design. Her second career began when God called her into full-time youth ministry; receiving certification in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as a Director of Christian Education. Marlo return to Kansas City allowed her to pursue her passion of working with youth in urban communities as well as a return to the city she loves and now calls her home. Marlo's personal mission statement reveals: that you are never too old to become what God has created you to be. Always speak the truth, use tact when necessary. Laugh at yourself daily. Have a short memory when wronged knowing forgiveness abounds. Be confident knowing who holds your future, you are in good hands. Jeremiah 29:11-13.

Warren Kittler
Program Director, Book Nook Literacy Program

Warren KittlerWarren loves to be outside, teach youth, build cross-cultural relationships, and live for God. A native of Olathe, Warren has lived and worked in KCK since 2006. Warren joined the USC staff as he and his wife, Casie, were becoming members of SCC in February 2010. Warren directs the Book Nook program and helps with the Life Enrichment Program and JAM Session. When he's not at the USC, Warren runs Greeley Gardens, a youth-focused urban farm in the Quindaro neighborhood. Warren looks forward to the day when all the children in his neighborhood will be serving Jesus, reading at grade level, and eating food from their own gardens.
