Kristel Haynes currently serves as the Director of Human Resources at Colonial Presbyterian Church. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Kansas State University and, as a then-single mother, earned her Master of Science in Management degree from Baker University.
Now, as a mother, grandmother, and wife of a law enforcement officer, Kristel has focused herself personally and professional on helping others. For her, mentoring is a passion, so Kristel has served women through the HOPE Mentoring Program hosted by the State of Kansas and mentored young girls through the Junior Pearls Society, an organization developed through her church, Harvest International Outreach of Kansas City, where she has been a member for 11 years.
As an avid photographer, gardener, and “lover of all things nature”, Kristel has realized that refueling herself comes best in the form of taking moments to stand still and feel God. It is while in nature – in wide open spaces – that she is able to spend time one on one with God and be reminded of his loving grace.
Kristel has been honored to serve on the Board of Directors with the Urban Scholastic Center since 2017.
