Lynn Johnson

Board President

Background

Since 1990, Lynn has tutored, mentored, and counseled boys and young men from many different backgrounds and circumstances. Like many of them, he was also a child from a single parent, female dominated household. Although Lynn’s mother did an outstanding job caring and providing for him and his three sisters, the absence and influence of men who lead their families left him unsure about what it meant to be a man. He believes this same uncertainty has become more prevalent in the lives of boys and young men today and understands first-hand the negative impact an absent father can have on a child’s life.

Lynn’s mission is to help boys and young men grow into caring, responsible, and productive adult men. He is committed to creating clear pathways to access and harness opportunities for young people to extend their abilities, strengths, hopes and dreams beyond the boundaries of the neighborhood. Lynn also works to find more innovative ways to get more adults involved in mentoring boys and young men.
